The Republicans’ reported policies of lower taxes, limited government, and fiscal responsibility sounded appealing. SE has largest graduating class in university history

Southeastern Oklahoma State University held its 2024 spring commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday at Bloomer Sullivan Arena. The university said the class was the largest graduating class in Southeastern’s history, with 823 students graduating that included 349 baccalaureate degrees, 442 graduate degrees and 32 certifi cate recipients.

Plans moving to turn old movie theater into downtown centerpiece

Plans are in the works to turn the former Plaza movie theater into the centerpiece for downtown Durant. The old movie theater on North Third Avenue currently houses the District Attorney’s Office and county commissioners voted in a recent meeting to donate it to Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
