Halloween Season is here and so are the haunted events. The area is full of haunted houses, haunted trails and tails of the past.

Among these is the Pirtle House of Nightmares Haunted House. The haunted house is located in the Pirtle Community Building on the corner of Old Highway 70 and Pirtle Road east of Durant.

House creator Tim Miller said the purpose of the haunted house, besides being fun, is to help the community building with its needs.

Funds that do not go to operation costs of the haunted house are given back to the Pirtle Community Building.

Miller said one day he hopes to be able to raise enough to put a new roof on the building.

Tickets cost $10. The house is open October 18, 19, 24,25,26,31 and November 1 and 2.
