MAYSVILLE - The Caddo Bruins lost to Maysville 36-22 on Friday. The loss drops Caddo to 3-5 this season and 1-4 in District 1A-5.
Caddo will be home this Friday for their final game of the season against Elmore City-Pernell (4-4, 3-2). It will also be Senior Night, honoring ten Bruins in their last high school football game.
Most of these Caddo seniors were members of the 2011 Class B (eight man football) state championship team. Ironically, Friday will also be Caddo football’s last 11-man (Class A) game for awhile. In 2014, the Bruins return to eight-man Class B classification.
The 2013 Caddo seniors are Wyatt Wright, William Voyles, Triston Paris, A.J. Burkett, Garrett Morace, Tanner Grace, Zach McKimmy, Corey Savoy, Austin Hawthorn and Joao Lima.
In other District 1A-5 action on Friday: Wynnewood defeated Stratford 19-0… Wayne upset Wewoka 22-15… Crossings Christian School defeated Elmore City-Pernell 14-6.
This shakes up the middle of the district standings with two games left for all the schools except Caddo. Wynnewood is close to locking up the district championship at 7-1 overall and 4-0 among district foes.
Wewoka (5-3) and Elmore City-Pernell (4-4) are tied for second with 3-2 district records. Stratford (5-3 overall) has a one-game lead for the fourth and final playoff spot at an even 2-2.
Wayne (3-5) and Maysville (2-6) are on the outside with 1-3 district marks. The Bruins (3-5) bring up the rear at 1-4.
