Ice damage in extreme southeastern Bryan County has caused severe damage to Native Pecan orchards and fences. Farms and ranches suffering severe damage may be eligible for cost sharing assistance under the Emergency Conservation Program administered by the Bryan County Farm Service Agency. To qualify for assistance the following must apply.
A producer qualifying for ECP assistance may receive cost-share levels not to exceed 75% of the eligible cost of restoration measures. The maximum cost share amount is $200,000 per producer per disaster occurrence. The following practices have been approved for this program.
The application period for assistance began on Monday January 13th and will run through Friday February 14, 2014. Producers who have damage are encouraged to take pictures of the damage before performing any cleanup of the debris or repair of the fences and provide the pictures to FSA at the time of signup.
