CHICKASHA - The Lady Lions showed some first-half defensive savvy on Tuesday against No. 10 Chickasha, but the Lady Chicks doubled their scoring in the second half to pull out a 57-48 win over Durant.

Durant trailed 14-8 in the first quarter as the Lady Chicks threw a defensive block party. But the Lady Lions returned the favor in the second quarter, holding Chickasha (7-12) to a single basket and closing to within 18-16.

A three from Alexa Richards to start the second half gave Durant an all-too-brief 19-18 lead. The Lady Lions were only down five early in the fourth before Chickasha rattled off 10 unanswered points to build some distance.

Richards finished with 16 points, Ciera Taylor had 10, Alexus Coxsey scored eight, Makayla Patton seven (five from free throws), Rheagan Jones six and Sarah Roesler one free throw.
