Sierra Moore’s basketball career keeps extending upward.

Moore was a two-time All-District performer for the Durant Lady Lions before she went to Murray State College. The past two years there, she averaged 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

Now, Moore will be hanging her jersey in new a locker room. She recently signed with the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

UCO women’s basketball coach Guy Hardaker has high hopes for Moore.

“Sierra is an athletic, penetrating-type player with loads of experience,” Hardaker said. “She will play the two or three position for us and is a great addition to our team.”

Moore was a hot commodity, as three other schools were interested in signing her — Northwest Missouri, Oklahoma Christian and Harding University.

“I really like the girls and program there at UCO,” said Moore. “The coaches are well-grounded and I like that. These are my last two years of basketball, and I think that we can be very successful.”

After Moore graduates, the world will be opened to her to become whatever she wants to be. But her passion for basketball will never leave her heart.

“I think I would like to be a coach,” said Moore, who also plans to get her master’s degree. “I don’t know if I want to be a high-school coach or be an assistant coach at college or work my way to be a head coach somewhere.”

Whatever she decides to do, Moore will pour her passion into it.
