The St. William’s Catholic Church’s Calf Fry committee met to finalize the upcoming event for St. William Catholic Church’s Fifth Annual Calf Fry. The event is to take place on Sunday, April 23 in the Haggard Hall building at the Fairgrounds. It was decided that the serving of the food will begin at noon, followed by a live auction, and during the event the public will be able to view and bid on items displayed for a silent auction. They reviewed the items for both auctions and feel comfortable they are just what is needed for successful auctions. The gratitude for all those who donated items for this event was related to other members of the parish in attendance. The extended menu was discussed to accommodate the taste of all the people, young and old (and not so old). The committee has also made plans to have activities for the children in attendance at the event.
The committee members have been diligent in selling tickets and working hard to make this event a success. All Members of the committee were asked if they were in need of any more tickets and to reminds people that tickets may be purchased at the door.
The decoration committee stated a variety of baked good or candies wrapped in red, white, and blue will be the main focus on each table and will be available for purchase.
There was an excitement during the meeting because it seems they are coming close to reaching their goal this year and the construction of the new parish hall is in sight. Will Grote, Committee Chair related his appreciation for all those who worked so hard to make this a successful event.
With the food, the activities and decorations taken care of, the committee adjourned.
