Brooks-Williams earns Master’s degree from Harvard

Riley Denae Brooks-Williams


BOSTON , Mass. – Riley Denae Brooks-Williams, wife of Ryen Williams and daughter of Renea Roberts and Terry Brooks of Durant, was awarded a Master of Liberal Arts degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management at Harvard University’s 366th commencement ceremony, held on May, 25, 2017.

While at Harvard, Williams, was the recipient of the Dean’s Academic Achievement Award. In addition, she completed a master thesis titled “An environmental literacy assessment of Oklahoma public high school students and the factors affecting students’ environmental literacy.”

Williams is currently attending Trevecca Nazarene University as she finishes her Doctorate of Education. She intends to continue raising awareness for environmental literacy at local, state, and national levels.

Riley would like to thank her family, Dr. Mary Hitchcock, Peggy Worden, Phyllis Rustin, and all of the school administrators and students who volunteered to participate in her master thesis project.
