The annual Bryan County Teachers Meeting was held Friday August 30. School personnel from across the county gathered at the Bloomer Sullivan Arena to celebrate the teachers and administrators of the year.


The Bryan County Teachers meeting is held on the Friday before Labor Day each year. The meeting honors all teachers in the county and recognizes each school’s teachers and administrators of the year.


The elementary teacher, secondary teacher and administrator of the year for each school are recognized at the meeting.


After entertainment by Tanner Young of Colbert Schools, the presentation of each school’s Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year candidates and keynote speaker Guy Doud, the county teachers of the year and administrator of the year were announced.


This year’s Bryan County Elementary Teacher of the Year award goes to Tracy Rowland of Rock Creek Elementary. The Secondary Teacher of the Year award went to Penny Lovell of Kiamichi Technology Center. Administrator of the year went to Mike Goodwin of Kiamichi Technology Center.
