Boswell woman injured in crash
An 80 year old Boswell woman was transported to the Medical Center of Plano Thursday after her vehicle ran off the road and rolled.
Wanda Ainsworth was admitted to the hospital with head, arm leg trunk-internal and trunk-external injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Officer reports said that Ainsworth was traveling westbound at 11:57 a.m. on US Highway 70 about 4 miles east of Durant when she ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned the vehicle.
Ainsworth was pinned for approximately 26 minutes before being freed by Durant Firefighters. The accident is still under investigation by OHP.
In other crashes, no one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at approximately 2:50 p.m. on East Highway 70 at Timberline Drive in Durant. According to the Durant Fire Department, both drivers were out of their vehicles when emergency personnel arrived and they declined medical treatment. The accident did close the highway until authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
Also Thursday, firefighters hosed down a grass fire in the 200 block of Lone Oak Road. According to a department report, the small fire scorched approximately a half acre.
