The Durant Animal Rescue Alliance held a Hawgs for Dogs events Saturday October 20. The poker run began and ended at Sports City Café.

Riders made four stops along the way before returning to Sports City. The day also featured a doggy kissing both where people could receive some puppy love for 25 cents and an adoption day held at Sports City.

Three dogs were adopted out during the event. Alliance member Anna Marcy said $420 was raised at the event and then among the 3 rescues that make up the alliance.

“The donations will go toward vetting of current and future animals in our groups. Ever animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and vet checked before being adopted. If they are sick or injured in any way, that is treated before adoption,” said Marcy.
