Donna Alexander was sworn in Tuesday as Bryan County court clerk. The former first deputy was formally appointed by county commissioners to replace the now retired Sandy Stroud. Commissioners also voted to put the office on ballots to be cast in the June 24 primary election. If Alexander — who was Stroud's first deputy and has worked in the office for almost three decades — draws no opponent before the filing deadline April 11, she will take the oath again in a few weeks.
