An early Thursday-afternoon crash claimed the life of a young Caddo man, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Rylan Miller, 20, was taken by Bryan County EMS to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma where he was pronounced dead from massive injuries, according to OHP.

Miller was driving southbound at 12:30 on Caddo Highway two miles north and two miles east of Durant when he drove his pickup off the roadway to the right, overcorrected, went off the roadway to the left and struck a utility pole which snapped in two. Miller’s pickup rolled twice and ejected him approximately 51 feet from the point of impact, OHP said.

Unsafe speed was cited in Trooper Scott King’s report as the cause of the crash, and Miller was not wearing a seat belt. Trooper Mitchell Patten assisted in the investigation.
