A second arrest has been made in connection with a Sunday-night shooting near the Blue River Bridge in Bryan County.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested 31-year-old Craig Becker for accessory to murder after the fact.
OSBI spokesperson Gary Perkinson said evidence lead them to believe Becker was involved in burning victim Frank Owens’ truck after he was shot and killed Sunday night.
Frank Wendell Owens II, 22, Bennington, was found with gun shot wounds Sunday evening on Old Highway 70 near the Blue River Bridge, according to authorities.
He was taken to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant where he died that night.
The victim’s pickup was discovered burning at approximately 2:15 a.m. Monday east of Blue River on Highway 70.
The Philadelphia Volunteer Fire Department and Durant Fire Department put out the flames. The vehicle was a total loss, according to DFD reports.
A suspect in the shooting, 22-year-old Mark Anthony Neal, was arrested Monday following interviews and a search.
Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, OSBI and the U.S. Marshall’s Office worked through the night Sunday and continued efforts Monday and Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing, and a motive has yet to be determined. Officials also do not know for sure how the men were connected.
“They will still conduct more interviews today,” said Perkinson.
