A celebration of life was held Friday afternoon for Dalton Wade Houser.

Dalton is Durant Police Chief David(Randy) Houser’s 22 year old son. The Durant community expresses condolences for Chief Houser and the entire family.

Mayor Stewart Hoffman said, “I offer my deepest condolences to the Houser family. As a parent, my heart is broken for them. I pray the Lord will give them comfort and peace in a way that only He can.”

Tim Rundel, Durant City Manager said, “My heart aches for Chief Houser and his family. My daughter is 23 and my son turns 22 on April 1st. I can’t imagine the loss he’s experienced with the passing of Dalton. The Chief has been a rock for years for his fellow officers, employees, friends and family. It’s good to see those whom he’s supported be here during his time of need. I’m proud of how this organization and our community has responded in his darkest hours. It speaks volumes.”

Dylan Wade Houser was born May 20, 1994 in Durant. He passed away March 11, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
