A pickup pulling an RV was struck by a train Monday evening, according to the Durant Fire Department.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched to railroad tracks at South Ninth Avenue and Rodeo Road, and upon arrival, they discovered a pickup with RV had left the roadway and was on the railroad tracks.
Bryan County EMS and law enforcement officers were already on the scene an firefighters assisted with bringing an occupant to an ambulance, according to the report.
The man, later identified as 42-year-old Earl Eugene Barr of Warensburg, Mo., said he was a passenger and that the driver had fled on foot, the report stated. However, after reviewing security camera footage from the casino, it was determined that Barr was the driver and was alone in the pickup.
He was not seriously injured. Barr was charged Tuesday with DUI, carrying a firearm while under the influence and obstructing an officer.
