Bill Orr’s memorial service was held Saturday morning at the old Durant High School, now the Durant Middle School.

Orr taught for 3 decades before becoming Bryan County Tag Agent and City Councilman.

Family and friends were touched by words from Durant Police Chief David Houser, Roger McGehee, and Durant Mayor Jerry Tomlinson.

One touching moment among many was when Chief Houser looked directly and compassionately with a smile, at Yolanda Orr and said, “She was his beloved.”

The song “Free Bird” was played at the end of the ceremony. Yolanda said, “It was so him.”
