As summer comes close to an end so did the summer reading program at the Donald W. Reynolds Library.

The program ended Friday by honoring the top readers in each class followed by snacks, face painting, games and magic.

Top readers included Ellie Henderson, Kaydee Current, Jacee Bentley, Jordan Hammond and Jonathan Davis. Emily Wright earned the title of overall top reader with over 400 book read this summer.

Each top reader was given a $25 gift card and a certificate. One other child from each class received a $25 gift card in a drawing.

Drawing winners were Tori Allman, Lily Carter, Jay Tucker, Laura Swearengin, Morgan Lemons and Allison Robertson.

Each child that participated also took home a prize bag full of goodies with this year’s theme “fizz, boom, read.”

The science based theme was also reflected in the magic show by Steve Crawford as he incorporated space into his magic.
