Bryan County District 2 Commissioner Tony Simmons invites the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Bridge No. 141 over Island Bayou at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25

The bridge is located on North 3830 Road (Romia Road), approximately three miles north of Yuba.

The project was designed by Guy Engineering Services’ Oklahoma City office and involved replacing the existing 40-foot I-beam span bridge structure with a 10-foot timber approach span and wooden deck.

Measuring 105 feet long, the pre-stressed concrete beam bridge project was completed this month, constructed by HUB Construction from Boswell.

The bridge construction cost was $549,000, funded with MAP 21 Surface Transportation Program funds (federal), County Improvements for Roads and Bridges funds (state) and local county funds.
