Durant judicial and legal professionals hosted a party Thursday to say farewell to one of their own.

Assistant District Attorney Julie Naifeh is leaving Durant. She will be moving to Charlotte, N.C., with her husband, who recently received a career opportunity there.

Naifeh said she is ready for this new experience, but no matter where she goes, Bryan County will always be home to her.

She said she is in the process of obtaining her North Carolina law license and will be looking for a legal position in her new city.

“I just know something exciting is around the corner,” said Naifeh.

District Attorney Emily Redman said Naifeh has served as assistant D.A. for 12 years and will be missed.

“She has been invaluable as assistant D.A.,” said Redman.

While Redman will miss Naifeh, she said she’s excited for Naifeh’s adventure and wishes her the best of luck.
