As part of statewide ramped-up enforcement efforts for the Labor Day holiday weekend, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and numerous law enforcement agencies, including Bryan county Sheriff’s office, Durant Police Department, Caddo Police Department and Calera Police Department, will be operating a special enforcement patrol along with impaired driving and safety checkpoints on Friday, Aug.29 from 7 p.m. to [Saturday, Aug. 30 until 4:01 a.m.
Local patrols will take place in the area of Bryan County and the Durant city limits. In addition to the safety checkpoints, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Bryan County Sheriff’s Office and Durant, Calera and Caddo police departments will be conducting saturation patrols in different locations within the Troop E geographical area and city limits throughout the Labor Day holiday weekend.
In addition to enforcement activities planned, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol will be taking a no refusal stance on impaired driving. If a driver refuses to provide a blood or breath sample, the Trooper may apply for a warrant through a district court judge for a non-consensual blood draw.
