FORT TOWSON — The Calera Bulldogs traveled to Fort Towson Monday and took a big bite out of the Tigers.
The teams played only three and one-half innings, but Calera still was able to score 16 runs to Fort Towson’s one. It was 7-1 after one inning, and the Bulldogs put up the other nine in the second.
Calera had 11 hits to Fort Towson’s one. The winners were even charged with four errors and left four on base, while their opponents committed two errors and stranded five runners.
Every Bulldog contributed at least one RBI in the game. Josh Loper and Jesse Collett batted in three runs each. Loper went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. Collett was 1-for-2 with a one-bagger.
Shawn Harper, Brayden Langley and Chase Hamilton finished with a pair of RBIs apiece. Harper and Langley were 1-for-2 with a single, and Hamilton went 1-for-3 with a one-bagger.
Michael Trammel, Rylee Barton, Cooper Hamilton and Dakota Jackson each batted in a run. Trammel was 1-for-3 with a single, Hamilton went 2-for-2 (singles) and Jackson finished 2-for-3 with a double and single. Barton got hit by a pitch in all three plate appearances.
Jackson took the mound for Calera. In three innings, he struck out one, walked three and allowed one hit.
Calera will play in the Coleman tournament beginning Thursday.
