A Carrollton man being sought by police on charges related to the theft of a Kane Township bridge was arrested just before noon Wednesday, according to Greene County Sheriff’s Office authorities.
Matthew W. Tucker, 46, of Carrollton is facing charges of theft of state-supported property after a seldom-used bridge was taken and believed to have been dismantled for possible scrap. He has also been charged with theft under $500, unawful possession of methamphetamine, driving while license revoked and fleing or attempting to elude a police officer.
He remained lodged in the Greene County Jail on Wednesday in lieu of $2,000 cash bond.
Deputies had sought Tucker since he reportedly led authorities on a brief chase that ended with him running into a wooded area and disappearing.
He was arrested without incident at a rural residence southwest of Carrollton.
