Durant Police released the names of an elderly couple found dead in their home on Sunny Meadows Drive.
They were identified as Victor Deal, 82, and Sammie Deal, 89.
Police were originally called out to the residents for a welfare check when they found the bodies.
Detective Brandon Laxton said people had become concerned because the couple had not been seen in a while so police went to check on the situation.
Police discovered the bodies inside a home on Sunny Meadows Drive at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday night. Laxton said it appears the two had been deceased for several days by the time they were discovered.
Capt. Ben Veenstra said Thursday afternoon that the deaths appeared to be from natural causes and that Mr. Deal died first, and Mrs. Deal, who suffered from dementia, died some time later.
The bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City
