Larry Lucas, Oklahoma Main Street Architect, will be in Altus on Tuesday, Oct. 22 to work on the design for a Main Street Altus Alley Park. The alley park is planned for the alley behind the north side of the Square and the alley between Crown Plaza and the Southwestern Bell building. Lucas has invited Scott Day, of Urban Development Services in San Antonio, to help with the design work. They will meet with stakeholders, property owners and the Main Street board and design committee to develop the design for the park.

Main Street Altus will hold a community meeting at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 22 at the Altus Municipal Complex, 509 S Main. Larry Lucas and Scott Day will present their ideas for the alley park design.
Barbara Burleson, Planning Director for the City of Altus, said, “The Main Street Altus Alley Park will be an asset for our downtown, Main Street events and an exciting place for all to enjoy! Please join us and help make the alley park become a reality.”
