Bryan County Commissioners met Monday, January 13 and discussed issues concerning various items of county property.
Commissioners approved a donation of a surplus Webbcraft boat from the Bryan County Sheriff’s office to the Chickasaw Nation.
Sheriff Ken Golden said the boat, which does not get used, was gifted to the sheriff’s office some time ago meaning the county was at no loss if it is donated to the Chickasaw Nation.
Commissioners decided to keep and use a portion of land they had previously attempted to sell. The land is near Bokchito and will be used for such things as equipment storage for District Three.
The board also approved a motion to have the unused auxiliary jail property appraised for possible sale.
Commissioners also approved a resolution directing all property in the east end of the auxiliary jail to be removed if it is not to be auctioned off.
Property not to be auctioned has to be removed prior to February 1. An auction is being set up for the remaining property.
