All area residents interested in having input into the development of the SFY 2015-2018 Area Plan directing how services are delivered under the Older Americans Act in Oklahoma are invited to attend a public hearing set for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Durant Nutrition Site, 301 N. 16th, Durant, OK sponsored by SODA Area Agency on Aging.

The Older Americans Act, enacted in 1965, has been the primary funding source and program policy guide, for services to older Americans. Programs include congregate and home-delivered meal programs, information and assistance, legal aid services, Ombudsmen programs, access to services such as transportation, outreach, and family caregiver support services to the 60+ population in the Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Coal, Garvin, Johnston, Love, Marshall Murray and Pontotoc counties.
