Southeastern has scheduled its women’s basketball matchup with Dallas Christian for this Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
The contest was originally set for Nov. 25 but was delayed by a week due to weather conditions in the Texoma and Dallas areas, and the due to a schedule misunderstanding by the Crusader was again bumped from Dec. 2 to Dec. 4.
The Savage Storm come into the matchup with a 4-2 mark on the year, but are looking to bounce back from a road loss to Northeastern State over the holiday weekend.
Wednesday’s game is also the final opportunity to get free admission to a Southeastern basketball game just by bringing a canned food item.
SE is led by a trio of players averaging in double figures, with Breana Small-Peppers turning in 13.0 ppg, followed by Emily Williams at 11.0 ppg and Haley Schaefer at 10.8 ppg.
Small-Peppers also leads the club in rebounds with 8.6 per outing, while Williams is right behind with 7.3 and Schaefer is adding 5.8.
Taylor Richards is dishing out a team-high 3.5 assists per outing, while Williams is adding 2.5 and Kaylie Baxter is at 2.0.
The Crusaders come into Monday’s game with a 1-7 record after opening the season with six-straight losses before picking up a victory over Barclay College to snap the skid. DCC fell to Sul Ross State in its last outing.
They are led by Alison McGinnis who is averaging 13.4 ppg on the year, while Raeanne Davis and Ellie Gould each average better than nine per outing.
The Crusaders are averaging 56.1 ppg as a team.
Jessalyn Flowers leads the team in rebounds at 8.9 per game, while Davis and Flowers are each dishing out more than two assists per contest.
