Battle for supremacy at Rock Creek Tourney

ROCK CREEK - The 6th annual Rock Creek Invitational Tournament got underway on Thursday as eight teams are vying for the top spot. Rock Creek, Calera, Caddo, Coleman, Eagletown, Ft. Towson, Soper and Stringtown.
The Calera Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were gifted a win after Coleman forfeited. Coleman will finish out the tournament.
Rock Creek Lady Mustangs 42 - Soper Lady Red Bears 48
Harlie Heflin of the Rock Creek Lady Mustangs led her team in scoring with 18 points, but the Lady Mustangs fell victim to Soper 48-42.
The Lady Mustangs shooting started out cold as Soper outscored them 8-2 in the first period. Then Rock Creek came back within two points in the second period and trailed 15-13 heading into halftime.
Lady Mustags came out of halftime with the hot hand, but the Soper edge Rock Creek 32-30 at the end of the third period.
In the final frame the Lady Mustangs made a vailant come back but fell short 48-42.
Rock Creek Mustangs 48 - Soper Red Bears 36
Bronson Burns of Rock Creek led his team in scoring with 24 points and pushed them pass Sopher 48-36.
Burns started out with the hot hand as he made three 3-pointers in the first period to give his team a 15-10 lead heading into the second period.
Rock Creek couldn’t miss in the second period as they rolled up 16 points and took a 31-18 led heading into halftime.
Soper couldn’t put a dent in Rock Creek’s led in the third period and the Mustangs took a comfy 41-29 led into the final frame.
The Mustangs and Soper shooting went cold in the fourth period, but the Mustangs held on for a 48-36 win.
Caddo Lady Bruins 49 - Stringtown Lady Tigers 17
Dessiree Haugen scored 21 points to led her team in scoring as the Lady Bruins dominated the Stringtown Lady Tigers 49-17.
The Lady Bruins came out strong in the first period as they tourched the Lady Tigers for a 17-7 lead.
Haugen outscored the entire Lady Tigers team as she scored 8 points in the second period versus Stringtown 4 points. The Lady Bruins led 30-11 at the half.
The Lady Bruins broke the will of the Lady Tigers in the third period as Caddo outscored Stringtown 16-0 and took a 46-11 lead into the fourth period.
Caddo sat all of their starters in the final frame and won 49-17.
Caddo Bruins 51 - Stringtown 31
Patrick Joines of the Caddo Bruins led his team in scoring with 13 points as the Bruins blasted Stringtown Tigers 51-31.
Caddo put its foot down in the first period as they went on a 8-2 run and finished the period with a 15-4 lead.
The Tigers woke up in the second period, but the Caddo held them at bay as the Bruins held on to a 29-16 half time lead.
Then the blow out began in the third period as the Caddo outscored the Tigers 11-4 and widen its lead to 40-20.
Caddo would close out the game with a comfy 51-31 victory.
Girls: Rock Creek vs. Stringtown @ 10 a.m.; Coleman vs. Ft. Towson @ 1 p.m.; Calera vs. Eagletown @ 4 p.m. and Caddo vs. Soper @ 7 p.m.
Boys: Soper vs. Ft. Towson @ 11:30 a.m.; Coleman vs. Stringtown @ 2:30 p.m.; Calera vs Caddo @ 5:30 p.m. and Rock Creek vs. Eagletown @ 8:30 p.m.
