Durant Lions basketball has cracked the top 20 of the state’s official high school basketball rankings this week.

The Lions check in at 20th place among 5A schools on the list released Monday by ossaarankings.com. They list the Durant boys with a 5-6 record.

Other Bryan County area schools on the charts are holding steady this week. Silo (10-4) is No. 12 among 2A schools, with conference rival Tushka (14-1) on their heels at 13.

The Tigers just won their own tournament Saturday with victories over Stringtown, Antlers and Hartshorne. Silo went a disappointing 1-2 at the Kingston New Years Classic with a three-point win over Tishomingo followed by losses to 3A No. 7 Atoka and host Kingston.

Wapanucka is holding down 13th place among Class B schools with a shiny 13-1 win-loss mark.

Caddo girls can claim the highest ranking among all Bryan County squads, with a perfect 11-0 mark good enough for a No. 6 ranking among Class A schools. Caney (12-1) holds down No. 16 in Class B.
