Boswell outscored the Lady Mustangs 15-5 in the closing minutes to earn their second trip to a tournament consolation game this season with a 40-36 comeback win over Rock Creek.

Rock Creek held a slim lead throughout most of the game and finally built it to six points on three pointers from Madison Akins. But Lady Scorpion Breosha Williams managed an answer each time.

In the fourth quarter surge, it was a Williams steal which found Camrie Rhone for her only basket of the game to make it a 33-30 Rock Creek lead. Rhone later returned the gift to Williams who tied the game at 36 apiece.

Moments later, it was Williams again with a steal and open look to give Boswell a 38-36 lead. Virginia Beddo’s free throws sealed the deal.

Boswell had plenty of kids step up on Thursday. Breah Stewart led all scorers with 13 points to go with eight rebounds and four steals. Williams finished with 11, Calli McIntyre scored 7, Beddo had six and Rhone had three to go with seven rebounds and four steals.

Michaela Stinson led Rock Creek with 13, Harlie Heflin scored 8, Akins 6, Angelica Marsh 4, Beth Burns 2, Kaci Haislip 2 and Josie Harbin 1.

Taylor Pickett had the best individual numbers of the night with 24 points, six steals and five rebounds to help lead the LadyDawgs over Achille on Thursday.

The game remained close until a 22-7 Calera run in the fourth quarter. After a 12-4 start for the LadyDawgs, Achille’s Kayla Wright scored nine to pace a 13-4 comeback in the second. The Lady Eagles held a 17-16 lead at the break.

Raychel Alexander had a pair of put-back shots to keep Achille close in the third, until Pickett took over and scored 11 in the quarter. Calera would outscore the Lady Eagles 37-14 in the second half.

Maddie Partian scored 10 of her 12 points in the fourth for Calera; Raylee Rogers added 8; Micaela Curtman had 4 points and 4 steals; Madi Robinson hit an early three; Kaylee Ervin scored a late basket.
