DURANT, Okla. - Following back-to-back 20-point performances, Southeastern’s Emily Williams has been named the Great American Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

While the Savage Storm split its two games on the week, falling to Ouachita Baptist before finishing the weekend with a victory over Henderson State, Williams remained constant over the weekend, stretching her streak of 20-plus point outings to three in-a-row and four of her last five games.

For the week she averaged 27.5 ppg on a very efficient 64.3 percent shooting effort, posting a 7-of-10 performance from long range and adding a 12-of-15 mark at the free throw line.

Additionally she averaged 6.0 rebounds per game, while adding three assists and a steal over two games.

She turned in a season-high 29 points against OBU, and followed up that performance with 26 in the win over HSU.

Those two outings come off a 27 point effort in a win over Arkansas Tech, and two games removed from a 28 point night against Southern Nazarene.

In all, Williams has crossed the 20-point mark six times on the year, joining just eight players across the league to have that many. She has also climbed into the league’s top-10 in scoring over the last two weeks, lifting her scoring average to 14.6 ppg.

Southeastern will be back on action on Feb. 6 when it hosts Arkansas-Monticello at 5:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
