The first round of playoffs has wrapped up with several local high school teams earning district championships on the basketball court.

In Class A, both Boswell and Caddo teams swept through their district playoff brackets. The Scorpions defeated Eagletown 70-48 on Saturday, while the Lady Scorps clipped the Lady Eagles 51-42.

Boswell boys are now 16-6 and cracked the top 20 in the Class A rankings this week. They will play No. 15 Roff at 8 p.m. Thursday in Quinton. The Lady Scorps will play Allen at 6:30 p.m., also in Quinton.

In Class B, Wapanucka boys and Caney girls joined Bennington as district champions among Texoma basketball teams.

Wapanucka defeated the Pittsburg Panthers 70-59 last week for the district trophy. The No. 15 Indians will face Southwest Covenant (No. 20) at 8 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Schools in Shawnee.

Caney Lady Cougars (No. 15 in Class B) defeated Moyers 59-25 last week for their district trophy. The 22-2 Lady Cougars host Bennington at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
