Six Texoma teams take district crowns

A total of six local basketball teams have won district championships in classes 3A and 2A over the weekend.
Starting with the boys, who racked up four district titles:
Colbert defeated Wright City 49-38 on Saturday in a physical contest. The Leopards will host No. 4 Haworth (23-3) at 8 p.m. Thursday to open the regional round.
Winner will play on Saturday night in Purcell against the winner between Silo and Cordell. Loser must play on Friday afternoon in Purcell against either Dibble or Amber-Pocasset.
Silo destroyed Amber-Pocasset 74-19 in the District 4 championship game on Saturday in Wayne. The Rebels play Cordell at 8 p.m. Thursday in a regional game to be held in Amber-Pocasset.
After Cordell, Silo’s next game would be in Purcell, with a win placing the Rebels in a Saturday night regional championship and a loss placing them in a Friday night must-win game.
Tushka won its district game against Wilson 59-47 on Saturday. The Tigers will be in Rush Springs this Thursday at 8 p.m. to take on Christian Heritage in the regional round. Friday and Saturday games will be held in Latta.
Kingston edged Marietta 50-48 on Friday. Kingston will continue its playoff home stand at 8 p.m. Thursday when it hosts Hugo. The Buffaloes throttled Valliant 50-24 in last week’s district contest.
CLASS 2A Girls:
Calera defeated Haworth 47-33 on Saturday for the district crown. For details, see related coverage on this page.
Tushka notched a pair of decisive victories to take its district title with a 56-34 win over Wilson on Friday and a 65-37 defeat of Ringing on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers will now face No. 14 Rush Springs at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Rush Springs. Friday and Saturday games will be held in Latta.
The Silo Lady Rebels split their district games over the weekend, defeating Wayne 7-66 on Friday before dropping a 55-49 decision to Amber-Pocasset in the final. Silo will be back in A-P this Thursday for a 1:30 p.m. must-win contest against Dibble.
Colbert fell to Wright City 59-49 on Saturday, forcing the Lady Leopards into an elimination game at 1:30 p.m. Thursday against Haworth. The game will be held at Colbert Gym.
In Class 3A, Marietta defeated Kingston 46-39 on Friday. Kingston will host Valliant at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
