LadyStorm softballers will conclude a 12-game home stand with Friday-Saturday doubleheaders against Southern Arkansas.
First pitch on Friday is set for 1 p.m. with the start time for Saturday’s action at 11 a.m.
Weather permitting, of course.
Coach Ron Faubion’s young ladies are leading the Great American Conference standings with a 14-4 mark to go along with a 21-8 overall record.
Southern Arkansas (13-9 and 18-14) is fourth in the standings, third, really, because No. 2 Northwestern (11-5, 21-8) is not eligible for the tournament championship due to provisional membership status with the GAC.
Henderson State is third at 15-7 and 19-14.
East Central is fifth at 10-8 and 18-13, Harding sixth at 12-10 and 20-15 and Arkansas-Monticello seventh at 11-11 and 20-15.
Ouachita Baptist (7-15, 11-23), Arkansas Tech (5-13, 13-17), Southern Nazarene (also not eligible at 5-13, 11-20) and Southwestern (5-13, 9-21) round out the standings.
Other top-end matchups this weekend will have Henderson State hosting Southern Nazarene, Northwestern hosting Harding and East Central hosting Arkansas-Monticello.
Sweeps by any of these teams could rewrite the GAC standings.
