SILO - A game between two top five ranked teams in Bryan County battle it Monday afternoon in Silo. Cobert Leopards are ranked at No.5 and Silo Rebels are ranked at No.1 in Class 2A.
After the dust had settle the Rebels top the Leopards to the tune of 8-3.
Kendall Shives took the mound the for Silo and pitched a complete game with five strike-outs. Chris Roberts was the starting pitcher for Colbert and he went five innings with two strike-outs and allowed one home run.
Silo drew first blood in the bottom of the first inning. The Rebels’ lead-off hitter Andrew Bolin hit a home run over the 360 yard marker in center field on the second pitch he saw. The Rebels led 1-0.
Then Colbert bounced back and took the lead from Silo in the third inning.
Colbert was gifted to base runners to begin the top of third inning. Then Kason Krob hit a RBI double, Roberts drove in a run and Colton Bruce hit a RBI single to give the Leopards a 3-1 lead.
Then the Silo hitting machine started up.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Silo’s Tanner Hearon hit a RBI double that cut into Colbert’s lead, 3-2.
Silo would put the game away with a six run fifth inning. Bolin would score on an error, then Leonard Sandler got got base due to an error. Lance House hit a RBI double to drive Sandler and House would score on an error. Then with two base runners in scoring position, Tanner Clark hit a 2 RBI double into the outfield. And later scored on another Colbert error as the Rebel’s captured the win over Colbert, 8-3.
