The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife 16th annual Wildlife Youth Camp will be held June 22-27 at the OU Biological Station at Lake Texoma.


The camp is designed to give youths an increased awareness of managing Oklahoma’s wildlife resources. It provides an excellent opportunity for youths to explore possible future careers in wildlife management.


The camp is competitively open to all Oklahoma youths 14-16 years old. Applicants must turn 14 prior to the first day of camp. Those applying must have been enrolled in school the previous year and have an interest in wildlife law enforcement or management.


Applicants must write an essay of approximately 75 worked describing why they want to attend the camp and what they expect to learn, provide a letter of recommendation by someone other than a family member, and provide a recent photo of themselves in a recent outdoor-related activity or event.


A maximum of 35 youths will be selected to attend the camp. All applications must be received at the Oklahoma City ODWC office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 18.
