SILO — The Silo Rebels hit three home runs in four at-bats in the shifty breeze Tuesday afternoon en route to a 12-3 run-rule win over Hugo.

Silo jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Andrew Bolin led off with a walk and moved to second on Leonard Sandler’s ground out. Bolin stole third, then scored on a single up the middle by Lance House.

That’s when Jarris Hamilton routed a pitch over the right-field fence for a two-run homer.

The Rebels batted around in the second and had seven runs to show for it.

Tanner Hearon started it off with a walk. He got to second when the first baseman missed a pick-off throw and advanced to third on Tanner Clark’s ground out. Lucas Long sailed one just out of the third baseman’s reach for an RBI single.

Bolin’s line drive couldn’t be contained by the third baseman and put runners at first and third. Sandler knocked in Long and Bolin with a stand-up double over the center fielder’s head.

Lance House advanced Sandler to third. With two outs, Hamilton hung a long fly ball near the fence that managed to fall right between the gloves of the converging right and center fielders. Hamilton was hustling, making it to second, and Sandler scored.

Kendall Shives then drove an RBI single up the third-base line.

Trenton Long hit a grounder stopped by the first baseman, but without anybody there to cover the bag, he was safe. With runners at first and second, Hearon dropped a two-RBI triple in right-center. Hugo changed pitchers and ended the inning on a Clark fly to right.

Hugo’s only points of the game came all at once — off a three-run homer in the third near the sign claiming 360 feet by Hugo’s three-hole and first baseman. Silo led 10-3.

The Rebels added one run each in their last two turns at the plate. Bolin hit a solo shot over the fence at left-center in the third. Trenton Long, the designated hitter, took one over at left field in the fourth.

The game ended on a diving catch in the outfield by Lance House that closed the top of the fifth.

Short stop Hearon finished with a triple, single, two RBIs and a walk. Hamilton had a home run and two runs batted in. Sandler hit a double and knocked in two runs.

Trenton Long turned in a home run, single and brought in a run. Bolin blasted a homer, accounting for an RBI, and also drew a walk. Shives added two singles and an RBI.

House and Lucas Long contributed a single and RBI apiece.

On the mound for Silo, Hamilton pitched for five strikeouts, walked two, hit two and allowed three hits through four and one-third innings. He threw three K’s in the third, the same inning the Buffalos got their first clean base hit.

Bolin finished against only three batters in the top of the fifth and walked one.

The Rebels’ next scheduled action is a home game against Kingston at 4 p.m. Monday ahead of the Class 2A Regionals.
