Amanda Kay Whorton, 23-year-old lifelong Caddo resident passed away Thursday afternoon, March 11, 2004, in Dallas, Texas, from an automobile accident. She was born June 6, 1980, to Richard and Linda (Reynolds) Whorton. Amanda was educated in Caddo and was a 1998 graduate of Caddo High School. She attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, where she was majoring in business management. She would have been a May 2004 graduate and will receive an honorary diploma. She loved softball and was an avid fan of all other sports. She loved spending time with all her many friends and loved family gatherings. She was an amateur and the family photographer.

She always took all the pictures of family gatherings, birthdays, graduations and all other special occasions. She was a longtime member of the Robinson Baptist Church before joining the Caddo First Baptist Church. She worked for the Caddo Bank for the past three years.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Leroy Reynolds and paternal grandfather R.H. Whorton.

Survivors include her parents; maternal grandparents Wilma and L.C. Mears, Bokchito; paternal grandmother JoAnn Whorton, Caddo; uncles Kenneth Whorton, Leslie Whorton and wife Lora, Steven Whorton and wife Tracy, all of Caddo, Jerry Reynolds, Pampa, Texas, Randy Reynolds and wife June and Brad Reynolds and wife Pam, all of Bennington, Ricky Reynolds and Mitchell Reynolds and wife Toni, Bokchito, and Michael Pugh and wife Tammi, Nipomo, Calif.; aunts Lavinia "Aunt Sissy" Bagby and husband Rick, Caney, and Judy McIntire and husband Mike, Frisco, Texas, as well as numerous cousins and many friends.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Caddo school gymnasium with the Revs. Leamon Bullard and Charles Howard officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray Don Gordon, Brad Pennington, Steve Pennington, Dustin McKay, Ryan Wingfield and Josh Proctor. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Green, Josh Wingfield, Justin Fite, Ryan Carrol, Roy Hopkins, Brian Doyle, Chance Gray, Shane Green, Jason Lilley, Brian Hodge, Alan Williams, Lance Underwood, Macy Nichols, Vernon White and Chad Wingfield.

Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo.

Cunningham's Caddo Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

There will be a lunch following the services in the Caddo School cafeteria. Family hour will be 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
