Numerous automobiles were burglarized over the holiday weekend in the Cartwright-Platter area.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Kevin Holt said approximately nine vehicles were burglarized. Items stolen included stereos and a wallet. Most of the vehicles were unlocked.

Deputy Gary Cook investigated a burglary and two thefts on Saturday. Sharon Large told Cook over the telephone that someone entered her home in the 2100 block of Willafa Woods Road. Several cabinets and drawers had been opened, including the medicine cabinet, but nothing was missing.

A cell phone and checks were stolen out of Kathy Lovelace’s vehicle on First Street in Cartwright, according to a report by Cook. The vehicle was unlocked.

A DVD player was stolen off of the porch of a home in the 1500 block of Kemp Road. Ed McDaniel said that FedEx left a note on his door advising a package had been delivered. The package, containing a DVD player, was gone.

Deputy Jason Bannowsky investigated a burglary Saturday at Jennifer Atwood’s home in the 1800 block of Miller Road in Caddo. Atwood said that when she returned home, the back door was open and her dresser drawers had been rummaged through. Medication and a camcorder were stolen for a loss of $500.

A 10-foot trailer containing welding equipment and tools was stolen from Jeff Edelen on Arnett Road in the Bokchito area, according to a Sunday report by Bannowsky. Also Sunday, Mark Goodson told Bannowsky that his pickup was stolen from the parking lot of Topper’s Bar on Streetman Road in Mead. The keys were inside the vehicle, but not in the ignition, according to the report.
