Barbara Elaine Aunt “Bob” Hale a resident of Calera, Oklahoma passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born in Hardeman County, Texas on November 19, 1955 to L.N. and Velma Dean (Norris) Gilbert. Barbara married Eddie D. Hale in Durant, Oklahoma in August of 1974.
Barbara was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. She had a servants heart and worked as a Provider for Red River Home Health because she loved taking care of others. Barbara enjoyed many things like; reading, watching T.V. and cooking for her family and others. But most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family.
Mrs. Hale is survived by her; son, Christopher Glenn Hale of Calera, Oklahoma; brothers, Homer Gilbert and wife Betty of Wade, Oklahoma and Ed Gilbert and wife Lillie of Wade, Oklahoma; sisters, Myrtle Link and husband Bob of Quannah, Texas, Sharon Grimes and husband Jimmy of Cartwright, Oklahoma, Brenda Vandenburg and husband David of Highland Village, Texas, Wanda Woodard and husband Charles of Ennis, Texas, Donna Vandenburg and husband Ricky of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Jan Malone and husband Don of Bennington, Oklahoma; special niece, Ashley Malone of Bennington, Oklahoma; Aunt Bob loved all her numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her parents, L.N. and Velma Gilbert; sisters, Lenore Shastid and Audrey Gilbert; brothers, Kenneth and Jerry Gilbert; grandparents, Myrtle and Frank Norris and Homer and Annie Gilbert.
Family Hour will be on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 7-8:00 PM at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Parker officiating. Pallbearers will be Steven Shastid, Carey (Bruiser) Gilbert, Terry Gilbert, Mike Vandenburg, Ricky Don Vandenburg and Richard Gilbert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ed Gilbert and Rick Malone.
