The Victory Life Academy Eagles will be on an eight-hour road trip to play the Forgan Bulldogs at home in the playoff this Friday.

The distance of the game will change the Eagles’ routine as they prepare for the long road trip

“Because of the distance, we will miss a day of practice. We will leave tomorrow (meaning today) and we will stay in Woodward, which is about an hour away from Forgan and find someplace to practice there,” said VLA head coach Tim Wigington.

The Bulldogs are made up mostly of players from a basketball team that had been to state last year and they seem to have good team chemistry. “They have some real good athletics there and they like to mix it up on offense. We are going to have to cover everything real well on defense.” Wigington said. “They have a good combo with a QB and TE that are brothers and they usually connected on plays a lot. These brothers are about 6-1 and are on the same page.”

Though it is a long trip for the Eagles, the team is pumped up about entering the playoffs for the first time under coach Wigington. Though the weather could be a concern

“They are real excited and ready to play. They are really ready to go, but I’m afraid we might have to play in the elements when we play. It could be a really cold night but we’ll deal with it.”
