A car crashed into a ravine just before 8 this morning on Highway 70 five miles east of Durant near Hickory Hollow Road. According to officials at the scene, a mother and son, who were both trapped in the car before being freed by Durant firefighters and Bryan County EMS, were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that according to authorities, were not severe. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed the road for 44 minutes before reopening it at 8:48 a.m.
