Chris D. Jones announces his candidacy for Associate District Judge for Bryan County.

He is a native of Bryan County and is well qualified by reason of education and experience and thereby offers his services to Bryan County by being Associate District Judge.

Jones graduated from Calera High School and then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics Education.

He then moved to Oklahoma City where he worked for the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector full time, and attended the University of Central Oklahoma at night where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

While continuing to work full time for the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector, Jones attended night school at Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2006.

While attending OCU School of Law, Jones was a Merit Scholar and scholarship recipient, 3- year member of the Mock Trial Team, member of the OCU Law Review, honored with the publication of a law review article in OCU’s Law Review, a 3-year student ambassador, received the Law School Dean’s Service Award, member of the William J. Holloway, Jr. American Inn of Court,president of several law school organizations, and received numerous other law related awards upon law school graduation.

After being admitted to practice law in the State of Oklahoma in 2006, Chris D. Jones started Jones Law, PC where he has been practicing law in Southeastern, Oklahoma with his office out of Durant.

Jones is admitted to practice law in the Northern, Eastern, and Western Federal District Courts in Oklahoma. He served as the president of the Bryan County Bar Association in 2008 and 2009, and now serves as the secretary.

Jones is the son of the late Marilyn Roper-Jones of Kenefic, who was a teacher at Calera Public Schools for more than 20 years, and Quinton D. Jones of Bushnell, a former county commissioner for District No. 2.

He was raised on a farm outside of Calera and grew up attending the Calera First Baptist Church.
