Wayne was a resident of Bryan County for a big part of his life. He lived in Bokchito, Durant and the latter part of his life in Denison. When he was young, he enjoyed racing cars. He loved working with cars. He owned and operated a paint and body shop for over 30 years in Durant and Denison, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers C.R., Delbert and Buddy Brackett; and sister Bertha Medell.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Willis and husband Mike of Durant and Lori Roberts and husband David of Denison, Texas; their mother, Bonnie Brackett of Durant; brother Dan Brackett and wife Barbara of Bennington; and sisters Lorene Thompson of Bennington and Lillie Mae Winans of San Angelo, Texas. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Kristi Roberts of Denison, Texas, Amanda Counce and husband Chris and Staci Willis, all of Durant.
Interment will be in Bokchito Cemetery at Bokchito. Pallbearers will include Mike Willis, David Roberts, Larry Roberts, Scott Brackett, Steve Brackett and James Cox.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.
