The Colbert High School Leopard Cheer Team of Jenna Bowles, Maggie Copley, Paige Jackson, Melanie Mouser, Adonica Onstott, Lenzie Sampson, Sarah Winnett, and mascot Jadyn Carter recently attended summer camp on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman.

They learned numerous new cheers, chants, and dances to energize the Leopard fans for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. The Leopards improved their stunting skills and received the NCA Award for Superior Stunting Skills and the S.P.O.T. Award for excellence in spotting and stunt technique.

During the first evaluation portions of camp they received and Excellent ribbon for chant and a Superior ribbon for cheer. On the final day evaluation the Leopards stepped up their performance level and came away with Superior ribbons in both categories. As a team, they exhibited energizing spirit to receive the “Spirit stick” on all three days of camp.

They also received the Herkie Team award for the whole camp and a bid to perform at Nationals. Individually, team members Jenna Bowles, Pagie Jackson, Adonica Onstott, and Lenzie Sampson received All American Cheerleader nominations. Jadyn Carter developed her mascot skills and was recognized for her efforts with an Excellent ribbon. She devised an entertaining skit to perform for the camp attendees that earned her an All American Mascot nomination for her superior dance and animation. Jadyn was also recognized with a plaque for Most Improved Mascot. The Colbert Leopard Cheer Team is ready to build that Leopard Spirit.
