David Jones was elected to the Durant Board of Education during the school elections held Tuesday.
Jones beat out incumbent Tommy Sleeper and also challenger Mary Faulkner. Jones carried the election by 60.11 percent, receiving 217 votes. Sleeper received 9.14 percent, 33 votes, and Faulkner received 30.75 percent, 111 votes.
In Calera, John Carter was elected to Office No. 3, receiving 84 votes, 51.85 percent. Boyd Hamilton received 29.63 of the votes with 48 votes cast for him. Jeff Jackson received 11.73 percent of the votes, 19 votes, and Janita Jeffreys carried 6.79 percent, 11 votes.
Jeff Weger was elected to Colbert School Board Office Office No. 3 by 55.86 percent. He received 324 votes compared to 256 for Sammy Key.
Jerry Cook was elected to Rock Creek School Board Office No. 4. He received 53.59 percent with 82 votes cast for him, defeating Mark Boling, who received 46.41 percent with 71 votes.
Mindy House won the election for Silo School Board Office No. 3. She received 57.89 percent with 198 votes. Bo McIlvoy carried 26.32 percent with 90 votes and Glenn Price received 15.79 percent with 54 votes.
Caddo voters approved two bond propositions for its school. Proposition 1, a $400,000 bond for a library at the elementary school, passed by 62.98 percent with 114 ballots cast for it, compared to 67 opposed.
Proposition 2 a $300,000 bond for a classroom and restrooms for the high school, passed by 60.87 percent with 112 votes cast for it compared to 72 opposed.
Election returns will not be official until certified Friday.
