At Shawnee

The first round of the Shawnee Tournament was pushed back to today because of a rainout Thursday. The Lady Lions keep their original schedule and gametimes today. Weather permitting, they play Coweta at 2 p.m. and Shawnee at 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the Lady Lions will play Booker T. Washington.

“I think they’ve canceled the tournament portion of the game, and just guaranteed everyone three games,” said Durant coach Perry Turnbow. “The sun is out and the wind is blowing about 15 miles per hour, so it looks like we’ll get to play today.”

At Caddo

The Caddo Lady Bruins ended their conference matchup with Bennington early with a 16-5 run-rule Thursday.

Mikayla Wells (7-5) picked up the win, scattering four hits with four walks and three strikeouts.

She also helped her cause on offense, batting 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Ashley Strickland was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Jennifer Owen was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Bennington led 1-0 after the first inning, but Caddo scored six in the second and five each over the next two innings.

At Roff

Colbert dropped its opener, 8-0, to Latta after six unearned runs. Justin Donahoo took a hardluck loss after scattering two hits in 4.2 innings of work. Jeremy Burns tossed an inning of relief, allowing two hits.

“(Justin) threw the ball actually pretty well,” said Colbert coach Lance Britt. “We probably had one of our worst games in the field. We didn’t hit the ball very well. They did a good job with pitch location, and Latta’s a good ball club.

“We have a young team, and will just have to use that as a learning experience.”

Colbert was led by Zach St. John, who was 2-for-3. Cody Hughes and Christian Reece also had singles.

Colbert (7-4) will play Stuart, a 17-7 loser to Roff, today at 12:30 p.m.

The Silo Rebels improved to 10-0 by hammering Wright City, 16-7. Jacob Carter recorded the win with relief by Kenton Stanley. They gave up seven runs on seven hits with four walks and six strikeouts.

Trevor Bowen led the offense, batting 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and four RBIs. Carter helped his cause by going 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs.

Logan Oller was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Shawn Hendricks was 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs. Stanley rounded out the offense, batting 1-for-4 with a double.

The score was tied at three after the first inning, and Silo took the lead with three runs in the top of the third. Wright City answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, but Silo capped the game with 10 runs in the last three innings.

The Rebels (10-0) will play Oktaha, a 12-3 winner over Byng today at 5 p.m.
