Veterans Day Parade Marshals included Corporal Sammy L. Woodell (front) and Sgt. David E. Webb (back). Woodell is a Vietnam War veteran who served as a radio man in the U.S. Army and Webb is a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Army National Guard in the Middle East where he was wounded.

Calera Boy Scout Pack 670 rode through the Veterans Day parade in this vintage half track on Saturday. The Boy Scouts were among a number of youth groups participating in the parade, including Achille 4H, Rock Creek third grade class and Durant High School Marching Band.

The third grade class from Rock Creek Schools went all-out to show their support of veterans, carrying posters and signs during the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday. The effort earned them first prize in the school division of the parade contest.

World War II veteran Billy Garner (US Air Force) sang the Star Spangled Banner at the start of a Veterans Day ceremony on the courthouse lawn Saturday. Hearing the National Anthem from this 91-year-old serviceman was very humbling to many in attendance, who came up to thank him after the ceremony. He is pictured with VFW commander James Patterson.
