The Bryan County Tournament round up from Friday night’s play at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Game one had Colbert Lady Leopards dominate the Rock Creek Lady Mustangs 73-21. Game two featured the Calera Bulldogs holding off the Tushka Tigers 55-53 in the final seconds. In game three the Calera Lady Bulldogs beat the Caddo Lady Bruins 51-46. The main event had the Boswell Scorpions winning the battle with Silo Rebels 45-39.

Game One:

The Colbert Lady Leopards flexed it’s muscle against the Rock Creek Lady Mustangs with a 25-2 first period lead. Colbert’s defense caused seven turnovers that led to 14 points.

Turnovers plagued the Lady Mustangs in the second period and Colbert kept the pressure on and outscored the Rock Creek 13-10. The Lady Leopards held on to a comfy 38-12 lead into half time.

The blow out got bigger in the second half. Colbert went on runs of 8-to-4 and 14-t0-2 to put them ahead 60-19 at the end of the third period.

The Lady Mustangs shooting went cold in the final frame and scored only two points to Colbert’s 13 points and cruised to a 73-21 victory.

Game two:

It was a back and forth battle between Calera Bulldogs and the Tushka Tigers on Friday night. Tushka was down 50-51 with one minute on clock and had a multiple chances to win the game at the free throw.

The Tigers’ Garrette Wall would miss both of his free throws with one minute left in the game and then Devin Tomlinson had a chance at the free throw line but he missed both of his. However, Jody Moreland would hit a 3-pointer with 9.1 seconds left showing on the clock to tie the game at 53. Then the Bulldogs’ Jonathon Diamond would be fouled and he made both of his free throws to put the game away, 55-53.

Game three:

The Calera Lady Bulldogs grabbed a slim 30-29 lead at half time and had to hold off the come back minded Caddo Lady Bruins for a 51-46 win.

The Lady Bulldogs came out with a hot hand to begin the first period with a run of 11-to-4. After a the time out Caddo bounced back and to keep it close and the Calera led 19-11 after one period.

Caddo would cut the into Calera’s lead in the second period with a run of 14-to-4 to end the second period, but Calera held on to a 30-29 lead headed into half time.

The Lady Bulldogs extended it’s lead by four points, 40-36, to end third period after a run of 10-to-6.

Caddo would grab a 43-42 lead at the 3:40 mark in the fourth period, but it didn’t last long as the Lady Bulldogs would tear off a 9-to-3 run for a 51-46 win.

Game four:

The Boswell Scorpions and the Silo Rebels duked it out in the main event on Friday night. The Rebels took a 10-9 lead into the second period then Boswell bounced ahead of Silo in second period with a 21-20 lead at half time, then went on to get a 45-39 win over Silo.

The stars of the game were Silo’s Kendall Shives with 20 points and Boswell’s Markell Henderson finished with 13 points.

Boswell began to take control of the game in third period. The Scorpions would go on runs of 8-to-4 and 8-to-6 and extended it’s lead by seven points, 37-30.

The Rebels began it’s come back in the fourth period and pulled within two points, 39-37, with 2:13 left on the clock. But timely buckets by Boswell kept Silo at bay as Boswell stays alive in the winners bracket.
